Born of necessity, the Gibraltar Historical Association began in 1984 to preserve and restore the “Old Town Hall” that had been slated for demolition. Like-minded citizens came together and formed the organization. Much has been accomplished since those early years.
The Old Town Hall stands firm and erect on the village waterfront adjacent to Clark Park, and is used for many community activities. The Historic Noble House welcomes visitors to explore the old and the new as they enter the village center. GHA offers glimpses of the past through “Gibraltar Talks” and creates programs that mirror the history of the area.
GHA continues to collect, research, and preserve objects and archival materials that reflect Gibraltar Township history. This history is passed on to educate residents, visitors, and especially the community’s children. GHA continues to work toward the identification and preservation of historical buildings and green space in the community.
