The Door County Housing Partnership is an independent, nonprofit organization focused on providing permanently affordable homeownership opportunities for working households living year-round in Door County. We use a shared equity homeownership model and work with the community to provide the subsidy that bridges the gap between what working families can afford and what it costs to purchase a decent home.
Our homes are priced to be affordable to the working families that stable communities need, representing teachers, nurses, social workers, and municipal workers, to name a few. The DCHP’s unique approach allows us to create housing solutions that will stay affordable for generations.

Since 1994, the mission of Door County Habitat for Humanity has been to provide a hand up to help others acquire and own decent and affordable housing. We work with future homeowners to build new simple, safe, and decent homes to increase the inventory of affordable homes in Door County. We also work with existing homeowners to complete repairs they would otherwise be unable to afford or complete on their own. Our projects are done in partnership with the homeowners as they are required to both contribute time during the project and pay for material costs with a mortgage for home builds and a payment plan for home repairs. Door County Habitat for Humanity provides a hand-up, not a hand-out to current and future homeowners.
EYC Aaron R. Moore Sailing Scholarship
The EYC Aaron R. Moore Sailing Scholarship Fund finances sailing lesson scholarships at the Ephraim Yacht Club for junior sailors ages 7 and up who are year-round residents of Door County, WI, and who otherwise would not be able to afford sailing lessons. Aaron was a lifelong sailor and an enthusiastic sailing instructor; he recognized the many important life lessons that children learn through sailing, such as leadership, sportsmanship, self-reliance, and responsibility. This Scholarship Fund allows Door County children to take part in this learning experience and enjoy the growth and satisfaction that come from learning the sport. In its first eleven years, the fund was able to provide 250 scholarships to the children of Door County. We hope to be able to continue at this pace. Generous donors like you made the funding for these scholarships possible.
There are several ways in which you can support the Aaron R Moore Sailing Scholarship Fund:
- Make a donation directly to the Fund to help sponsor the event.

Council of Former Directors

The knowledge and wisdom of our former Directors help us identify areas of need, potential opportunities, and future projects for the Community Foundation. The Council also provides feedback surrounding the Community Foundation’s current strategic direction. Members of the Council have no formal corporate role but serve as an invaluable counsel to the Community Foundation.
The Council of Former Directors is convened twice a year. Every spring we convene the Council for a conversation about the current activities of the Community Foundation. This gives us the opportunity to gather feedback about our current strategic direction. Then in the fall, we reconvene for a discussion about Door County. This is our chance to have a discussion about what the Council sees and hears around the peninsula.
