Lt. Governor Barbara Lawton
spoke at DCCF's "Celebration of
Giving" on the value of
community foundations as
vehicles for building community

families to provide for the future
of our community.
SCHOLARSHIPS
The Door County Community Foundation is honored to administer several scholarships for the benefit of the young adults of Door County.
We encourage students to first speak with their school's guidance office. Many of the Community Foundation's scholarships are administered in partnership with Door County schools and decisions as to the recipients are made there by school professionals.
However, there are a handful of scholarships in which the selection process is independent of local schools. Please feel free to download the application materials for those respective scholarships below:
Bill & Yvonne Boettcher Golf Scholarship
The Bill & Yvonne Boettcher Golf Scholarship was created to provide educational opportunities for promising young students from Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. The scholarship(s) will be awarded to a Sturgeon Bay High School senior with a demonstrated financial need for their first year of post-secondary education. The applicant must have maintained at least a “B” average throughout high school and been involved in community service.
The applicant must also be in their second year of participation (or have participated previously for two years) in the golf program at Sturgeon Bay High School. If there is no worthy applicant that meets the two year golf program requirement, applicants with only one year of participation in the golf program may be considered. This is a non-renewable scholarship for educational expenses at an accredited 2- or 4-year post-secondary school.
Johnny G Scholarship
The Johnny G Scholarship was founded in 2002 in memory of Johnny L. Gonzales by his family and friends. Johnny was a fixture of the northern Door County community and loved by many. He was a graduate of Gibraltar High School and worked in the Door County restaurant business most of his (all too short) life.
The Johnny G Scholarship(s) will be awarded to a Gibraltar High School senior (or graduate age 21 or younger at the time of application) with a demonstrated financial need. The applicant’s parents must be single, divorced from each other, separated, widowed or deceased. This is a non-renewable scholarship for educational expenses at an accredited 2- or 4-year post-secondary school.
Robert J. Stoffel, Sr. Memorial Scholarship
The Robert J. Stoffel, Sr. Scholarship was created to help further the education of a promising young senior from Sevastopol High School in Door County, Wisconsin.
The ideal applicant will clearly demonstrate the characteristics of an emerging leader, will be involved in both school activities and community service, and will have a demonstrated financial need. This is a non-renewable scholarship for educational expenses at an accredited 2- or 4-year post-secondary school.
